Breaking Bread with Friends

My husband and I had two couples over for dinner tonight.  It is pouring rain outside yet they braved the congestion of a Friday night to come over.  Food was de-lish - if I do say so myself - and I do. I'm not saying this just because I was the chef.  To borrow a phrase from another chef "Can can cook." It was one of our "six at six" gatherings.  Great conversation, freshly cooked food, great cake and freshly whipped cream. MMmm-good.

I am in a nesting mood and so have embarked to invite small groups of people and sometimes individuals for lunch, breakfast or dinner a couple...two...three times a month. (I know a couple is two - this is just a saying from my girlish days.)

All that cooking meant I didn't write anything down today, but I do have some ideas bopping around in my brain and I plan to hit the computer early tomorrow morning.  After that I'll go to the library to pick up a book I ordered that is out of print but that they had at one of the other branches.  I'm rediscovering the library and enjoying it.  The  BPL's Adams branch near my home is abuzz with people of all ages.

Gonna go snuggle now.  Bye-bye.
