Wisdom for a Rainy Monday or Anyday
On a rainy, dreary Monday morning, I thought I’d share this bit of wisdom I overheard while waiting on a bus recently. (I’m attempting to clean up
“I don’t know how you wake up in the morning and be evil. (The guy who said it had spoken to a woman who rebuffed him.) You ought to be happy when you wake up. When I wake up in the morning, I’m a happy motherf****r ‘cause I woke up. Some people don’t wake up. They wake up dead. When I wake up, I’m happy ‘cause I woke up. I got people who love me and even if I didn’t, I love my motherf***ing self.”
I couldn’t have delivered this message more powerfully – so here you go - my Monday ray of sunshine!

I like, "Wake up dead." Actually I wake up grateful but not necessarily in a good mood. I'm just not a morning person. I saw two side-by-by side cartoons. One picture shows a guy getting out of bed with the caption, "Good God, morning." The other picture had the caption, "Good, God. Morning." What a difference punctuation (and outlook) makes!

You are so right, the message is simple, powerful, and succinctly stated. I say, "Thank You" each and every morning and throughout the day. And the brother is right, Love begins with the love and appreciation of one's self.
